MJ was all smiles during the press conference held for her before she left, proving wrong the rumors that she has backed out from joining the international beauty pageant.

When asked for a reaction regarding the rumors and how some netizens keep on bashing her, she just said, "It's good, people talk about me," followed by a laugh.

The 27-year-old beauty queen won the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe title last year, her third time to join the said national beauty competition. She was already 26-year-old when she was crowned, a year older than what had been the pageant's age limit of 25. It came to her advantage that the organizers adjusted the age limit to 26 beginning that year.

Despite her bashers, majority of Filipino beauty pageant enthusiasts are rooting for MJ to win the Miss Universe crown this year. While our contestants have consistently placed in the Top 5 of Miss U since 2010, our last title holder was Margie Moran in 1973.

The Miss Universe 2015 pageant will be held in Florida, U.S.A. It was the same state where Gloria Diaz, the first Filipino to win the Miss Universe title, was crowned in 1969.
