Bamboo Mañalac said “there’s life after the show” for Joniver Robles, after his controversial dismissal from “The Voice of the Philippines.”
The Pinoy rock icon, who is also Joniver’s “The Voice” coach, revealed the “game changer” during last Sunday’s episode of the singing reality show.
He didn’t go into details, saying that Joniver could not continue in the show due to “personal reasons.” The contestant was replaced by Rita Martinez who was originally eliminated from their group during the Knockout Rounds.
“People have to remember that there’s life after the show. So, that’s more important, I think,” he told pep.ph in an interview Wednesday night.
Joniver’s dismissal became even more controversial when the artist posted an appeal on Facebook minutes after the announcement was aired. He said he wasn’t aware of the show’s decision until he saw it on TV.

Some comments on his Facebook post, however, say he was kicked out because he violated his contract by revealing on social media that he made it past the Knockouts even before the episode was aired.
Meanwhile, Bamboo admitted that he hasn’t talked to Joniver yet after the controversial announcement.
He was also mum on what caused Joniver’s removal from the show but revealed that he learned about the contestant’s case weeks before the announcement was made.
"It was in discussion and it was agreed upon that for personal reasons, he had to walk away from the show. It was a surprise. It happens,” he said.
Coach Lea Salonga was also asked about Joniver’s case in a separate interview but she said she’s not in the position to talk about it.
The live shows of the program’s second season starts on Saturday, January 24th, with the Top 6 from each team competing for a chance to be called “The Voice of the Philippines.”
