Tale of romantic scandal to invade afternoon TV in “Secret Love: Sungkyunkwan Scandal”

A scandalous romantic comedy is coming your way beginning this Monday (Oct 29) as ABS-CBN finally airs the most-watched Korean drama of 2010, “Secret Love: Sungkyunkwan Scandal” in its Kapamilya Gold afternoon block.

The hit series is topbilled by Korean sweetheart popularly known to many Filipinos as Kim Na Na of “City Hunter,” Park Min Young, andKorea’s hottest and most sought-after actor today, Park Yoo Chun.

Kapamilya actor Rap Fernandez also tries out dubbing for the first time as he is the voice behind the character of Goo Yong Ha.

Set in a period where society does not allow females to be educated nor employed, Kim Yoon-hee (Min-young) disguises herself as her brother, Kim Yoon-shik, in order to alleviate her family from poverty. She goes through a series of odd jobs before she takes on the illegal act of becoming a substitute test-taker for the upcoming entrance examination in the prestigiousSungkyunkwanUniversity.

Unfortunately, she got caught by the smart and upright Lee Sun-joon (Yoo chun) who was also an aspiring student of Sungkyunkwan. But instead of taking her to the authorities, Sun-joon acknowledged Yoon-hee’s talents and encouraged her to enroll in the university.

To avoid being used by her family to pay their tremendous amount of debts, Yoon-hee agreed to what Sun-joon said and took the exam at the prestigious school still assuming the identity of his brother Yoon-shik.

She passed the exams and this is where the fun, laughter, romance, and scandal begin. Inside the premises of Sungkyunkwan, Yoon-hee becomes one of the four heartthrobs of the school. She will also challenge her strength and determination as he bears with the endless mischief of upperclassman Gu Yong-ha; put up with the constant mood swings of her roommate, Moon Jae-shin; avoid getting in trouble with the strict, student council president, Ha I-soo, and above all maintain or even stop her growing affections for Su-joon.

How long can she keep up pretending to be a guy? How will Su-joon react once he learns of Yoon-hee’s real identity and gender? Will he fall in love with her too? What happens next once their scandalous secrets have been revealed? How long can their hearts keep their love a secret?
