Suspension of Classes (Oct 25, 2012)

Mayor Mike Rama orders the suspension of classes in Cebu City for October 25, 2012 due to Tropical Storm Ofel which is now affecting more areas as it accelerates.

The suspension of classes in Cebu City is effective for all levels, preschool to college.

Areas without classes on Thursday include:

- Batangas City – preschool to high school
- Calapan City – preschool to high school (public and private)
- Cebu City – preschool to college

Meanwhile, guidelines of Department of Education regarding cancellation of classes when there’s a public storm signal are as follows:

Signal No. 1 : Pre-school and kindergarten, public and private schools
Signal No. 2 : Pre-school, kindergarten, elementary and high school, public and private schools
Signal No. 3 : All levels

LGU officials also have the prerogative to suspend classes in their respective areas even if no storm signal has been announced.
