A teaser for El Presidente: General Emilio Aguinaldo Story and the First Philippine Republic has been released by Viva Films, CMB Films and Scenema Concept International. The movie is an official entry to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) opening on Christmas Day.
El Presidente stars Jeorge “E.R.” Estregan, Nora Aunor, Christopher De Leon, Cesar Montano and Christine Reyes, from the script and direction of Mark Meily.
The biopic is from the same maker of last year’s MMFF most-awarded entry Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story that also starred Estregan. And that said, I wonder who he is going to do a biopic of next year.
Judging by the teaser, the movie will be another hit. Period movies always have the ability to be pleasing to the eyes, with all the costumes and color-grading to fit the theme.
