Jessica Sanchez sings Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You"; Gets another standing ovation

Jessica Sanchez was consistent in giving standing ovation-worthy performances in the hit reality show American Idol 11.

It was the Whitney Houston and Stevie Wonder week for the top 13 Idol hopefuls and the Filipina-Mexican sang one of the hardest songs from Whitney Houston’s playlist – I Will Always Love You.

The arrangement was good and the song seemed to be tailored for Jessica’s voice. You could feel the emotions from Jessica’s voice to her face to how her fingers tremble at the end of certain lines that seemed to command her vibrato.

All three judges gave her a standing ovation after the performance. Randy Jackson even called her “legit” and that the 16-year-old “may be one of the best talents” this season.

With another standing ovation from the judges, I think Jessica has already established a fan base this early on in the competition. That means she’s not going to be voted out early on.

The girl has big chances of winning, but is America ready for their first Asian/Latin American Idol? We’ll see.
