The movie is about a grandfather who takes his grandchildren in the place that had shaped him. On the verge of bankruptcy, he has nothing to give them other than life lessons that only living in Tondo could teach.
"Hari ng Tondo" was awarded the Director's Showcase Special Jury Prize by Cinemalaya 2014, and its actors Robert Arevalo and Cris Villonco won Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress respectively.
Also part of the cast are Liza Lorena, Rez Cortez, Aiza Seguerra, Cris Villonco, Ciara Sotto, Rafa Siguion-Reyna, Lui Manansala, Gian Magdangal, Lorenz Martinez, Carlos Canlas, Mark Tayag, Raul Montesa, Jelson Bay, Hans Eckstein, with the special participation of Eric Quizon, Ali Sotto, and Audie Gemora.
