Sarah Geronimo almost lost singing voice

Sarah Geronimo revealed she almost lost her voice because she had to sing songs with notes much higher than her vocal range.

After she won "Star For A Night" in 2003, belting the high notes was the trend among singers and she somehow had to go with the flow to prove to the public that she is good.

Matira matibay talaga. Kung sino ang hindi pipiyok 'yun ang magaling," she said in "Cheche Lazaro Presents" on Sunday, in the episode featuring the musicality of Filipinos.

The Pop Star Princess added that her voice suffered and that it is still in the process of healing.

"Nag-suffer po talaga 'yung boses ko. Nawala 'yung boses ko. Nawala 'yung falsetto ko. Nanginginig na 'yung boses ko. Kumbaga nagre-recover pa lang talaga 'yung boses ko hanggang ngayon," she said.

It was the reason why she decided to sing songs just within her range.

Importanteng malaman mo kung ano lang 'yung range mo as a singer.

She also doesn't accept several projects at the same time anymore.

Kapag may 'The Voice,' 'The Voice' lang," she said.

Geronimo comes back as one of the coaches of "The Voice" in the upcoming edition that aims to discover young singers. It premieres May 24 on ABS-CBN.
