Nichole Baranda's photo, where she flashes her middle finger on the camera, trended on Twitter when she entered the Pinoy Big Brother house during the pilot episode of the reality show's fifth season on April 27.
The 15-year-old housemate was asked about it in the episode that was aired on Wednesday and she said it was just some random pose that she posted on Twitter.
Baranda was among the most talked about housemates this season because she's the daughter that Phoemela Baranda revealed last year.
The 33-year-old TV personality-model has kept that part of her life a secret not only to the public but to her own daughter as well.
Nichole Baranda grew up thinking Phoemela was her sister and her grandmother was her mom. She only learned about the truth after her grandmother died.
On PBB's Thursday episode, Phoemela was interviewed and she cried while admitting that she and Nichole still has a lot to talk about when the teen goes out of the PBB House.
"Ang dami talaga naming kailangang pag-usapan ni Nichole," she said. "Hintayin ko nalang na siya ang magsabi sa akin."
As with regards to her daughter's social media photos, she said she doesn't get in the way of Nichole's social media activities but said there might really be a need to do so.
"Hindi ako nakikialam sa Instagram, Twitter, Facebook niya, which is dapat yata talagang gabayan ko pa siya. Pero kasi teenager eh, so parang ayaw niya masyadong tinitingnan ko 'yung social network sites niya. But I think kailangan talagang bantayan," she said.
Meanwhile, during Alex Gonzaga's task of interviewing the housemates, Nichole said her biggest fear is losing her mom because she's the only family she has left.
The teen housemate also revealed that it's hard for her to express her true feelings, like telling her mom that she loves her.
