Marian Rivera greets Megan Young as the new 'Marimar' (VIDEO)

Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera greeted Megan Young, the new Marimar, on Sunday, August 23, 2015.

Megan and her leading man Tom Rodriguez guested on "Sunday Pinasaya" to promote the television series which will begin airing on Monday, Aug. 24.

"Alam naman nating lahat na 'yung Marimar 'yung isa sa pinakaminahal talaga ng tao na ginampanan naming dalawa ni Thalia, kaya naman sa araw na ito, binibigay ko sa 'yo ang taos puso kong pagbati sa 'yo," Marian told Megan.

"Marimar" is a Mexican telenovela originally starred by Thalia in 1994

Marian was the first Filipino actress to play the role in GMA-7's first adaptation of the series which aired from 2007 to 2008. Dingdong Dantes who played Sergio, the leading man, is now her husband.

Meanwhile, the new adaptation also has in its cast Lauren Young, Jaclyn Jose, Alice Dixson, Zoren Legaspi, Ina Raymundo, Nova Villa Tommy Abuel, Carmi Martin, Rainier Castillo, Solenn Heussaff, Rita De Guzman, Ronnie Liang, and the dog Princess as Fulgoso voiced by comedian Boobay.
