Janelle Manahan and her mom guested on Kris TV this morning, January 5, 2012, and talked about the tragedy that Janelle went through.
Janelle, who survived the incident that took the life of her boyfriend Ramgen Revilla, admitted that she still cries every night when she prays. She always asks God to give her a chance to talk to Ramgen even in her dreams to tell him the things that she haven't told him while he was still alive.
She recalled how Ramgen was telling her "I love you" so many times the whole day of October 28, also thanking her even for the little things. She found it a bit over acting and she didn't say "I love you" back which she later regretted.
"Everything happens for a reason," she told program host Kris Aquino. She believes that she survived the incident so she can give justice for what happened to Ramgen.
The survivor also confessed that she was supposed to go to La Union with her friends and cousin a day before the crime happened but Ramgen was somehow trying to delay her trip so they could be together. "Parang dini-delay n'ya 'yong lakad ko, tapos gumagawa sya ng plans na kami na lang 'yong magkasama instead na pumunta ako do'n, kaya nag-stay po ako."
Rosario Quintana, Janelle's mom who was in Legazpi at that time, said she was texting with her daughter the night of October 28. She got the shock of her life when all of a sudden Janelle texted "Mommy nabaril ako."
She immediately called people including her brother-in-law who, in turn, called someone who he knew could help Janelle.
Janelle, who couldn't place calls because her cellphone was running out of battery when the incident happened, said she also texted a friend to help her.
Janelle is still undergoing home therapy. She gets electrical stimulation on the right side of her face which is still paralyzed. "It will recover naman po in time daw," she explained.
She admitted that she and Ramgen were living together since she was 17. She quitted showbiz 6 months after they became a couple because Ramgen wanted them to be together 24/7. They would have been celebrating their 5th year together this January 7th if he was not killed.
Her mother, who's based in Bicol, said she got disappointed when she learned that her 17-year-old was living with her boyfriend. She knew about the relationship but wasn't aware that Janelle was living in Ramgen's house all along. She said even Janelle's yaya kept it from her.
After the incident, Janelle and Ramgen's siblings were still okay. She started getting no-so-kind messages from her boyfriend's two younger siblings after she released her statement.
Janelle also gave a short message to her mom. "Thank you, and sorry if na-disappoint kita so many times. Na eventhough nasaktan kita before... hindi mo ako pinabayaan, especially now, you never left me... I thank you for always reminding me to hold on to God and I love you."
