Kapuso hunk Dingdong Dantes is busy right now. Aside from the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry titled Segunda Mano, he is also busy doing the horror-comedy flick Aswang Chronicles which is set for showing in 2012. What's more, he has an international movie coming up.
Dingdong stars opposite Kris Aquino in Segunda Mano (secondhand). It's a suspense movie that also stars Angelica Panganiban and being directed by Joyce Bernal. GMA Films allowed Dingdong to work with Star Cinema for this movie in exchange for Kris Aquino doing a movie with them in 2012.
Aswang Chronicles, on the other hand, is a different movie from Regal Film's Aswang which stars Lovi Poe. For one, Aswang is an official MMFF entry while Aswang Chronicles will be shown next year. One thing, though, Lovi is in both movies. Aswang Chronicles is written and directed by Erik Matti and produced by Dondon Monteverde's Revolver Studios and Reality Entertainment.
Dingdong's international movie, Dance of the Steelbars, is also in the works. It is a film inspired by the Dancing Inmates of Cebu Penitentiary. It also stars international movie actor Patrick Bergin and local actors Ricky Davao, Thou Reyes, Mon Confiado, Maila Damian, Kathleen Hermosa, Gabe Mercado and Joey Paras. It is produced by Portfolio Films International.
