"Ang Babae sa Septic Tank" on its Way to Oscars

The Eugene Domingo-starrer Ang Babae sa Septic Tank has been chosen by the Philippine Academy of the Philippines to represent our country in the 84th Academy Awards (Oscars) Best Foreign Language Film Category.

The comedy film was an entry to the Cinemalaya Film Festival 2011 where it won 5 awards including Audience Choice Award, Best Film, Best Director (Marlon Rivera), Best Screenplay (Chris Martinez), and Best Actress (Eugene Domingo). It was also released commercially by Star Cinema last month.

Ang Babae sa Septic Tank also stars Kean Cipriano, JM De Guzman, and Cai Cortez with Mercedez Cabral and Cherry Pie Picache.

Other films considered by the Film Academy of the Philippines were Zombadings 1, Rosario, Presa, Senior Year, Dalaw, and Ikaw ang Pag-ibig.
