Ray Jonsson Not Allowed to Fly to Mongolia From Beijing, Takes Korea Route Instead

Studio 23 will air the football match between the Philippines' Azkals and Mongolia's Blue Wolves tomorrow, March 15th, at 12 noon. It will have a replay the same day at 7 PM.

The Azkals beat the Blue Wolves in their first match at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City. But will they be able to beat the Mongolian team now that the game is gonna be at the National Sports Stadium in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia?

Of course, the Blue Wolves has the advantage of being in their own country, with their own crowd, and the weather condition that they are accustomed to.

To make matters worse, team Azkals was only able to practice in Mongolia today due to the delay in the arrival of their luggage.

Furthermore, Ray Jonsson, one of the foreign-Filipino players of Azkals, was stuck in Beijing for 40 hours due to lack of communication between the Mongolian Football Federation (MFF) and Beijing. Chinese officials say Ray doesn't have the necessary travel documents to fly to Mongolia. He is from Cebu but he's not carrying his Philippine passport. Apparently, Ray's Philippine passport is with the Azkals' management team because it was needed for visa requirements in Myanmar where they will go against three more teams if they win against Mongolia tomorrow.

Eventually, the MFF issued a letter to Beijing officials to allow Jonsson to enter Mongolia but still, the football player wasn't allowed to board the plane bound for Ulaanbaatar. He tried to fly via the Korea route instead.

As of this time, Ray Jonsson is already at the Incheon Airport in Korea and he's boarding flight to Ulaanbaatar in a few minutes.

Watch the Philippines' Azkals go against Mongolia's Blue Wolves for the second time on Studio 23 tomorrow, March 15th, at 12 noon with replay at 7 PM.
