9th Golden Screen Awards - Nominees

The list of nominees for the 9th Golden Screen Awards has been released. Angel Locsin is nominated for best drama actress category for her role in In The Name of Love. She’s the only nominated actress from a mainstream movie. As we all know, actors in indie films have more freedom in portraying their roles and I kind of like how other award-giving bodies don’t pit mainstream and indie films against each other.

Aga Muhlach is also nominated for his role in In The Name of Love. He’s up against MMFF 2011 Best Actor Dingdong Dantes and Paulo Avelino for their roles in Segunda Mano and Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa respectively.

Kapuso teen stars are nominated for their roles in The Road - Lexi Fernandez is nominated for breakthrough actress category, while Alden Richards and Derrick Monasterio are nominated for breakthrough actors.

Below is the complete list of nominees for the 9th Golden Screen Awards which is happening on March 24th at Teatrino in Greenhills, San Juan.

See the way Daniel looked at the camera before walking out of the elevator? Watch the 38-second video clip below. What do you think? Scripted or not?
