The It's Showtime Station ID of ABS-CBN has been released, introducing the show as the replacement for Happy Yipee Yehey which will end on Saturday, February 4, 2012.
It's Showtime is the noontime show version of the favorite Kapamilya talent show Showtime. It will start airing on Monday, February 6, 2012, and will be hosted by the same hosts Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Vice Ganda, Billy Crawford, Karylle, Kim Atienza, Teddy Corpus and Jugs Jugueta. Joining them as permanent hosts are hurados who have been well-loved by madlang people - Jhong Hilario, Ryan Bang and Coleen Garcia.
Showtime aired for more than two years. It premiered on October 24, 2009, and was so well-loved by televiewers that its rival show (GMA-7's Sis) was put off air. The Kapuso network produced a talent show called Diz Is It to pit against Showtime but it also failed and didn't last long.
It's Showtime is made to replace Happy Yipee Yehey for the obvious reason that the latter couldn't topple GMA-7's Eat Bulaga! in its seat in the ratings. And the question of whether ABS-CBN has finally created a show to beat the longest-running noontime show is up in the air.
The televiewers will decide, though. We just have to wait and find out.
