Bea Alonzo may have been in showbiz for fifteen years now but there's still something she haven't done - star in a horror movie. But that will soon be achieved because she is starring in the upcoming film, Eerie, alongside Charo Santos-Concio.
Eerie had a story conference on Monday, attended by Bea and the ABS-CBN executive herself. Director Mikhail Red and Star Cinema COO Malou Santos were also present.
In the movie, Bea will play the role of a guidance counselor and psychologist. By the character alone, we already know that this isn't the typical Pinoy horror flick that has manananggal and white lady in the cast.
But what took Bea long to do a horror movie?
"Matatakutin talaga ako, to tell you honestly, kaya sobrang scared ako sa project na ito," she said during the storycon, adding that she doesn't watch horror films much.
She, however, is willing to take on the challenge.
"A film is a film, a story is a story. It doesn't really follow kung anong genre as long as na-draw ka dun sa isang istorya and I am very curious to discover kung paano mag-u-unfold itong pelikulang ito," she said.
Working with Charo Santos-Concio for the first time also gives her the pressure.
"Siyempre dahil pinapanuod ko yung mga pelikula ni Ma'am Charo, sobrang mataas yung tingin ko kay Ma'am Charo, feeling ko natural na gusto mo siyang i-impress each time but parang kailangan ko ata labanan yung mga ganung moments because of course as actors dapat mag-focus kami on characterization," Bea explained.
Eerie is set to start shooting in March.
