The funny yet moving trailer of Deadma Walking is getting good feedback on the internet. Starring Joross Gamboa and Edgar Allan Guzman, the movie is set to open in cinemas on December 25 as part of the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
Deadma Walking has the comic levels of a gay movie but has the drama of a tragic story with one of the main characters suffering from a terminal illness.
Directed by Julius Alfonso, the movie is based on a Palanca Award-winning screenplay by Eric Cabahug. It won second prize at the Carlas Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature in 2016.
The story revolves around John (Joross) who is diagnosed with cancer and has only one year to live. With the help of his best friend Mark (Edgar Allan), he decides to fake his own death so that he can attend his own wake and hear what his friends have to say about him.
Deadma Walking is star-studded, with a lot of big stars doing cameo roles, including Piolo Pascual and Gerald Anderson. Eugene Domingo is also seen in the trailer running away from the angel of death.
