Alden Richards became emotional on Sunday as he received the double platinum award for his sophomore album, "Wish I May."

The album was officially launched on October 17, 2015. Before the launch and even before becoming physically available in stores, though, the GMA Records-produced album has already turned gold because of digital sales and pre-orders.
Two weeks after the launch, "Wish I May" turned platinum, along with Alden's self-titled debut album released two years ago under Universal Records.
And now, two months after it turned platinum, the Pambansang Bae again turned teary-eyed as he received the double platinum award for the second album.
With the rate the album is selling, a diamond record award is not far from happening.
