Raymart Santiago denied that it was him who caused the bruises on Claudine Barretto's face as shown in the "magic of make-up" photos posted by the actress's legal counsel, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, on Twitter.
According to Raymart, those bruises were caused by a surgical procedure Claudine underwent and those photos posted by the lawyer were taken before his estranged wife's guest appearance on Showbiz Central back in 2010.
To support his statement, Raymart sent a number of photos to pep.ph showing a happy Claudine bonding with his side of the family while still having bandages on her face.
“The wounds and scars are definitely real, but how they were sustained is a different story altogether,” part of Raymart's statement said.
Topacio posted the bruised photos of Claudine on his Twitter account days after the photo of the actress showing her thigh wounds came out on television. The authenticity of the photo was questioned by some netizens. The lawyer posted the "magic of make-up" photos to show how Claudine hides her bruises.
