'My Puhunan' features brokenhearted woman who found inspiration in soap business

Broadcast journalist Karen Davila details the story of how a businesswoman coped with and moved on from a failed marriage by dedicating her time and attention to her multi-million beauty soap business tomorrow (July 30) in “My Puhunan.”

My Puhunan

Despite being a dedicated wife, mother, and entrepreneur, her husband still managed to cheat on her with another woman. After filing for annulment, she became depressed, until she found new inspiration in a business that would eventually heal her broken heart.

Mestiza Soap’s whitening and healing soaps managed to grow and become popular among Filipino consumers despite not having endorsers, billboards, or TV ads for promotion. Beth claims her success is due to her products’ affordability and the efficacy of their all-natural ingredients.

While her kids used to sell only a few bars of soap a day, Beth now earns millions of pesos every month with a factory that makes 75,000 bars of soap a day.

In “My Puhunan,” Beth gives back by teaching aspiring entrepreneurs in Tondo, Manila’s Barangay Happy Land the how to’s in making her beauty soap.
