A chance wasted.
American Idol 11 top 12 contestant Jermaine Jones is disqualified from the competition for concealing the facts that he has outstanding warrants and was arrested twice before joining the reality show.
According to TMZ sources, the 25-year-old baritone singer from Pine Hill, New Jersey will appear on the show Wednesday night for the last time.
Jermaine reportedly told AI producers that his father abandoned him ten years ago. The father, however, called TMZ to say that the two of them see each other regularly.
The contestant, on Twitter, denied having said that his father abandoned him. It made the producers suspicious enough to dig more about the singer’s past which led to the discovery of the criminal records.
He was charged with 2 crimes last year, one involving violence. He also gave a fake name when he was arrested.
Some five hours ago, however, the 6’ 8.5” contestant tweeted: “Just got done with rehersal im very excited ... About everything goin on tomorrow ....#AmericanIdol love my #Idol family”
Right now, though, his Twitter account with the handle @JJonesAI11 has already been deleted.
