Heart Evangelista now engaged to Chiz Escudero

Actress Heart Evangelista and her politician boyfriend, Francis "Chiz" Escudero, are now officially engaged to be married!

After two years of being together, Chiz got down on one knee to ask Heart to marry him Saturday night.

The proposal happened in Sorsogon where the senator had served as congressman and where the actress was on vacation.

It was an emotional moment for Heart, whose falling out with her parents because of the relationship was much publicized.

Last year, Heart's mom, Cecile Ongpauco, even issued a statement to tell everyone that Chiz was alcoholic, opportunist, and has "personality defect."

But the actress admitted in an interview that her parents really played a big part in her failed relationships in the past.

“Everytime a relationship would end, a big reason would be them dahil nahihirapan akong ihati ‘yong sarili ko sa mga taong nagmamahal sa ‘kin at sa taong gusto kong ipagtanggol,” the 29-year-old actress said in a television interview.

Meanwhile, details of their wedding are yet to be revealed.

The 44-year-old senator's marriage to first wife, Christine Flores, to whom he has twin girls, was legally annulled in 2012.

A few months back during his guesting in "Tapatan Ni Tunying," it was revealed that he was already working on the church annulment of his first marriage.
