Anyone can be a hero in '#UNselfie Bayani'

A Time Magazine article cited two cities in the Philippines as the “selfiest cities” in the world – Makati and Pasig. Most Filipinos would agree and in one way or another, we all have tried taking our own solo shots and posted it in our Facebook accounts and in other social networking sites.

At many times, we become so consumed with ourselves and too preoccupied taking selfies that we fail to look around us and miss out seeing the people who are in need of our help as well as those faceless “bayani” of today.

It’s time we take our eyes off our own selves and pay attention to the much greater need in our society and in our country.
