Lucy Liu says she will look a little Filipino with dark skin

Hollywood actress Lucy Liu recently guested in The Late Night Show With David Letterman where she talked about her new movie Elementary.

Before that, though, she told the host what she does to keep fit, and in the process mentioned the world “Filipino” with reference to having dark skin.

She was asked by David Letterman if she prefer running outside or in a machine and Lucy replied: "I run in a machine, which is easier for me. Also if I get really dark, I'll start to look a little Filipino, it wouldn't match.”

Many Pinoy netizens took it in a bad light, saying Lucy is racist.

There were even some harsh comments posted on the YouTube video page like someone saying that Lucy is afraid of getting a tan because with a darker skin, she would look like the Filipino comedienne Pokwang.

But did Lucy really mean it badly?
