Mart Escudero stars in the 2011 Cinemalaya Film Festival entry titled Zombadings: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington. Judging by the title alone, it is a comedy film with gay characters in the lead role.
Mart Escudero plays the role of Remington, a young man cursed to be gay. He has a kissing scene in this movie with another male member of the cast, Kerbie Zamora. Kerbie, who was a Be Bench Model Search contestant in 2007, plays the role of Mart's bestfriend.
When asked how the kissing scene went, Mart said it felt awkward at first but it all went well with the help of the movie director and his co-stars.
Playing a gay role in his launching movie, Mart Escudero said he's not afraid of being typecast in such roles. His manager (Popoy Caritativo), though, said they wouldn't only take another gay role for Mart if the script is better than Zombadings.
Directed by Jade Castro the movie also stars Roderick Paulate, Eugene Domingo, Janice de Belen, John Regala, Leandro Baldemor, Daniel Fernando, and Lauren Young.
Zombadings: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington will have a commercial release on August 31, 2011.
