One of My Neighbor's Wife's leads, Carla Abellana, was castigated during the movie's press conference Monday night, August 22, 2011.
Veteran showbiz columnist Mario Bautista confronted Carla about the e-mail she sent him regarding an article that was published in his column. The actress was allegedly misquoted in one part of the article and e-mail was to demand an erratum for that.
Mario Bautista reasoned that he only based his article on the publicity slant provided by Regal Entertainment, the producer of My Neighbor's Wife.
Carla, as shown in the video clip (which you can watch below), was very apologetic and said that the article, in a whole, was very positive. It was just that she was quoted for something she did not say and that's what she wanted to be corrected.
Carla maintained her cool even while the columnist sounded like he was losing his temper. She talked slowly and even apologized just to end the heated argument.
In a separate report, though, Mother Lily, Regal Entertainment's matriarch, stood behind Carla Abellana and said she would find out who wrote the publicity slant. Mother Lily also went on to say that Carla has a good heart and the problem was actually her manager, Arnold Vegafria. She also told the press about Arnold's breach of contract with Regal. The talent manager allegedly accepted the movie Asyong Salonga where Carla will be paired with Governor ER Ejercito, when the actress is still under contract with Regal Entertainment.

Aside from Carla Abellana, My Neighbor's Wife is topbilled by Dennis Trillo, Jake Cuenca, and Lovi Poe. Written and directed by Palanca awardee Jun Lana, the movie will hit theaters nationwide on September 14, 2011.
