Philippine Airlines (RP-C7473) Boeing 747-400 made an emergency landing at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) due to some landing gear issues on Friday, August 26, 2011 (Saturday morning in Manila). Onboard the jumbo jet are 418 passengers and 20 crew members.
The pilot did a fly-by as firefighters lit up the 747 to check the landing gear after the pilot detected some sort of problem. The problem, it turned out, was two tires that had blown while in flight.
The pilot successfully landed at the LAX at exactly 9:13 PM. The passengers were shuttled to the Tom Bradley International Terminal to collect their bags and go on with their flight. One of the passengers, reportedly, was Annabelle Rama.
PAL refused to give out the names of the pilots but GMA News' sources "said the captain on the flight was Efren N. Enverga, who was assisted by co-pilots Mark Baniqued, Mark Victor Misa, and Villamor Feria Jr."
