American Idol's Carly Smithson Replaces Amy Lee in Evanescence

Ever since Ben Lee, the founding vocalist of the band Evanescence has left the group for reasons of "creative differences," other members of the band were left hanging especially when the lead vocalist, Amy Lee, went on her own.

But then they have found a new vocalist, American Idol's Carly Smithson, and they have renamed their band from Evanescence to Fallen.

Remember Carly? She landed on the top 6 of American Idol's 7th season. She was eliminated after performing "Superstar" from the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar."

Rock has always been Carly's genre and her high notes can very well deliver Evanescence-like type of music. She wasn't able to show her best as a rocker in American Idol because it was a family show. Now she's happy that she's in a group where she can showcase her musical abilities.
