The trailer for Tikoy Aguiluz’s “Tragic Theater” has received an X rating from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) twice reportedly because it was too scary.
The director, meanwhile, lamented that it’s supposed to be scary because it is a trailer for a horror film.
MTRCB’s mandate, however, doesn’t cover the internet that’s why the movie’s producer, Viva Films, was able to upload the uncut trailer (that received the X rating) on YouTube.
Check it out below.
“Tragic Theater” is based on the book of the same title written by G.M. Coronel. It tells about the ghosts of laborers that were buried inside the Manila Film Center when it collapsed during construction in 1981.
The movie stars Christopher De Leon, John Estrada and Andi Eigenmann. It is set to open in cinemas in January 2015.
