Herbert Colanggo, a convicted robbery gang leader, has his own air-conditioned music studio inside the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.
But it doesn’t just end there. He already released an album under Ivory Records titled “Kinabukasan” which has already reached platinum status. He also tied with Richard Yap as the New Male Recording Artist of the Year at the 6th Star Awards for Music last September.
To top that, he has a music video of the album’s carrier single, “Pa’no ‘Yon,” which was shot inside his music studio. The video is available on his own YouTube channel.

Colanggo’s cell was one of those that were raided by authorities headed by Justice Secretary Leila de Lima on Monday. Several expensive wrist watches were found in his cell, which is carpeted and has an air-conditioned second level that serves as his office.
In an interview, Colanggo said those things are donations from friends and politicians that include an uncle who is a congressman.
Cells of other high profile inmates also got raided, including those of drug lords Peter Co and Jojo Baligad.
Found inside their posh prison cells include large television sets, PlayStation console, refrigerator, a sex doll, suspected shabu, expensive bottles of liquors, and large amounts of cash in peso and dollar, among others.
The justice secretary said that those responsible for allowing these high profile inmates to live in luxury inside the NBP will be held accountable.
