Shot on location in Seoul, Korea, “Seoul Mates” is a funny love story about a 30-year old Filipino transgender woman Alice (Mimi Juareza) and a 25-year old Korean musician Joon. Both are heartbroken when their souls fatedly cross paths and they decided to team-up to get their exes back.
“Seoul Mates” is a full-length feature of Nash Ang, a Filipino filmmaker based in Seoul where he is currently pursuing his Masters in Filmmaking major in Directing at the Korea National University of Arts. He is also a recipient of the 2011 Ani ng Dangal for Cinema recognition from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
Meanwhile, Mimi Juareza who plays the protagonist also received recognition for his role in the film “Quick Change” where he won a Best Actor award and received an Urian Best Actor nomination. The cast are composed of Korean actors Jisoo Kim, Jiwon Cha, and Ryung Oh.
