The premiere dates of the 14th season of "American Idol" have been set.
On its official Facebook account, the program announced that the two-night premiere of "American Idol 14" will happen on January 7 and 8, 2014.
AMERICAN IDOL XIV returns with a special, two-night, three-hour premiere event Wednesday, Jan. 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) and Thursday, Jan. 8 (8:00-10:00 PMET/PT) on FOX. Featuring host Ryan Seacrest and judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr., the fun starts when the competition launches its search for America’s next superstar with auditions from Kansas City, Minneapolis, Nashville,New Orleans, New York and San Francisco.
Caleb Johnson was named last season's winner. It was his third time to try his luck, after auditioning and failing to make the live shows of season 10 and 11.
During season 11, the Philippines went abuzz when Jessica Sanchez, whose mother is a Filipina from Bataan, made it to the finals. She was named the runner-up to the season's winner, Phillip Phillips.
Will there be another Filipino-American in the upcoming season? Let's keep our hopes up as "American Idol" is definitely more interesting to watch from over here if there's a Pinoy contestant that we can root for.
