“Red” is directed by Jay Abello, the brains behind the culinary-themed romance “Namets,” the documentary on the Negros sugar industry “Pureza,” and quaint ode to letter-writing “Ligaw Liham.”
In his latest film, Abello offers a crime action drama set in Bacolod. “Red” the title of the film that refers to the lead character is a shy orphan who grew up in a girlie bar. Known as the best “fixer” in town who can bail anyone out of trouble, Red gets hired by Art, a socialite who requests Red’s assistance in settling the mess involving the disappearance of eight million pesos worth of drugs.
Red is portrayed by Urian Best Actor Jericho Rosales. Joining Jericho in the film are Mylene Dizon, Bibeth Orteza, JM Rodriguez, Nico Antonio, Mercedes Cabral, Shandii Bacolod, John Arceo, Rhea Lim, Miloy Seva and Milton Dionzon.
