“Red” is directed by Jay Abello, the brains behind the culinary-themed romance “Namets,” the documentary on the Negros sugar industry “Pureza,” and quaint ode to letter-writing “Ligaw Liham.”
In his latest film, Abello offers a crime action drama set in Bacolod. “Red” the title of the film that refers to the lead character is a shy orphan who grew up in a girlie bar. Known as the best “fixer” in town who can bail anyone out of trouble, Red gets hired by Art, a socialite who requests Red’s assistance in settling the mess involving the disappearance of eight million pesos worth of drugs.
