Elaine Gamboa-Cuneta, the mother of megastar Sharon Cuneta and the grandmother of actress KC Concepcion, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 79.
KC announced the sad news via Twitter, saying she has lost the best grandmother ever.
Hi, I just lost the love of my life today. My Mita will forever be the BEST GRANDMA EVER. She will forever be with me. I love you, my Mita.
The "Ikaw Lamang" actress followed it up with another post about her "Super Lola."
My grandma will forever be my inspiration. She loved life, gave us all beautiful adventures. She knew me more than I knew myself. #SuperLola
Then on Instagram, KC posted a photo of Elaine in a hospital bed, with a big smile on her face.
Says the caption: "I will miss you laughing this much, this way. I shared so many fun times with you that I will recreate forever. You are my sunshine, Mita."
Elaine was confined on September 2 in the intensive care unit of St. Luke's Medical Center Global City in Taguig. She died after 7 weeks of being in the hospital.
Before KC's announcement of her Mita's passing, she took to Twitter to ask for prayers because her grandma was in a "make-or-break situation with an operation" she had to undergo Wednesday morning.
KC's next tweet, sadly, was already the news about the death of her grandma.
According to reports, the former Pasay City first lady was pronounced dead at 2:05 pm of November 5, 2014 due to internal bleeding and complications arising from abdominal surgery.
The wake will be from Nov. 6 to 11 at Capilla Del Señor and Capilla Dela Virgen of Santuario de San Antonio Parish in McKinley Road, Makati City.
