Robin Williams dead at 63

Robin Williams was found dead inside his California residence on Monday morning, August 11, 2014. He was 63.

According to the police report, the Marin County Communications received a 9-1-1 call at around 11:55 am, reporting a man was found unconscious inside his home in Tiburon. Pronounced dead at 12:02 pm, the man was identified as Robin McLaurin Williams.

Investigation is still underway but officials suspect the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia.

A forensic examination with subsequent toxicology testing is scheduled to be conducted on August 12.

Robin's wife, Susan Schneider, has released a statement through his publicist:

"This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken," she said. "On behalf of Robin's family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin's death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions."

Robin Williams is known for his roles in "Good Will Hunting," "Dead Poets Society," "Jumanji" and many more. He publicly battled depression and addiction. He last checked himself in to a rehabilitation facility just last month.
