The Ghost Bride earns 14.3-M on opening day

Star Cinema's latest horror movie, The Ghost Bride, opened in cinemas on November 1, 2017, which was perfect because it's a special non-working holiday due to the observance of All Saints' Day. It's also the day after the Halloween when most of us love to get scared.

Starring Kim Chiu and directed by Chito S. Roño, the movie is about the unspoken old Chinese tradition of the ghost wedding where a dead male who hasn't been wed before is married to a ghost bride.

Star Cinema released the gross earning of The Ghost Bride on Thursday, citing that the movie earned 14.3-million in gross on its opening day alone. This was despite the fact that another local horror movie, Spirit of the Glass 2: The Haunted, opened on the same day.

Meanwhile, Kris Aquino made a promise to host a block screening of The Ghost Bride once she gets back to the Philippines. The Queen of All Media was in the U.S. when she posted about it on Instagram together with the poster of the movie. She also said she already misses Kim Chiu.

"May I host a block screening reunion because we've missed you," Kris posted followed by the hashtag "friends are family" in a post where she tagged Kim.

Kim's gratitude was evident in her comment to the post, saying, "OMG!!! This made my day!!! Ate!! I miss you so much!! Of course anytime… pag nandito ka na ate!! Thank you ate!!! Can't wait to see you.."
