Pinoy Pride 29: Fists of Fury ready to brawl

Only days are left before ABS-CBN Sports’ and ALA Promotions’ “Pinoy Pride 29: Fists of Fury” goes on an all-out brawl with Pinoy boxers Jason “El Nino” Pagara, Genesis “Azukal” Servania, “King” Arthur Villanueva and Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo set to take center stage at the USEP Gym in Davao City that is ready to bear witness to a blood bath on February 7 (Saturday) as the Pinoy boxers continue their ascension towards greatness. The fight will be aired on ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN Sports + Action the following day, February 8 (Sunday).

Pinoy Pride 29 Fists of Fury

Pagara totes a 34-2 record spiked by 21 knockout victories and is looking to stamp his class against Chavez (23-7, 11 KOs) via his crushing power. The champ’s title is also dangled between them making it a virtual blood bath when the opening bell rings. Pagara also hasn’t lost a match for three years already and looks like he is not willing to let go of that belt.

WBO Intercontinental Jr. Featherweight division champion and Pinoy rising star, Genesis “Azukal” Servania will also put his title on the line against Mexican challenger Juan Luis “Perla Negra” Hernandez. “King” Arthur Villanueva is also raring to show his wares and let his unbeaten record hang in the balance as he goes up against Julio Cesar “Pingo” Miranda of Mexico. Young pug Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo of Tacloban City also wants to put up a great opening act for his seniors as he takes on Sukkasem Kietyongyuth of Thailand in the card opener.

Servania (25-0, 11 KOs) is raring to drop the hammer on The “Black Pearl” Hernandez (17-3-1, 9 KOs), who will be hard-pressed to impede his path, and erase all the doubters of his WBO Intercontinental Fighter of the Year for 2014.

Meanwhile, Villanueva has been running loose in the Junior Bantamweight division, having racked up 26 straight victories with 14 coming via knockouts. Miranda will try to go all out to stop Villanueva’s rampage or be just another mark in the young boxer’s growing tally.

The 19-year-old pride of Tacloban, Mark Magsayo (9-0, 7 KOs) will have his gloves full of a wily Thai boxer Sukkasem Kietyongyuth (13-3, 8 KOs). But never doubt someone whose fights never lasted past the first round four times.

And as the battle rages on, Pinoy Pride 30 is just around the corner and is proud to announce that the switch-hitting Filipino Flash, Nonito Donaire, has signed on to headline the card that will also feature a return to the snake pit as Donnie “Ahas” Nietes tries to fend off another challenger to his reign.

Catch the furious blows of “Pinoy Pride 29: Fists of Fury” at the USEP Gym, Davao City on February 7 at 6PM. There will be a primetime telecast the following day, February 8, on ABS-CBN, at 10:45AM and on ABS-CBN Sports + Action at 9PM with a replay on February 14, 12NN on ABS-CBN Sports + Action.
