Britney Spears is spending her summer in the recording studio, says a representative of her label, Jive Records.
Spears' last album, Blackout, wasn't much of a success as it quickly slid down the charts last November from its debut notch at no. 2 on Billboard's top 200. Blackout obviously suffered from the series of bad publicity she was getting - divorce from her former backup dancer Kevin Federline, losing custody of her two sons and psychiatric evaluations, to name a few.
Previously reported to come out (through video) in Madonna's concert tour, she is now "conceiving" a new album. The pop princess definitely has plans to come back into the scene anew.
The album release date is yet to be released.
