JK Labajo's "MMK" episode wins in ratings, trends on Twitter
“Maalaala Mo Kaya” viewers nationwide tuned in to the life story of “The Voice Kids” 2nd runner-up Juan Karlos “JK” Labajo last Saturday (September 27) and made it the number one TV program over the weekend.

According to data from Kantar Media, the “MMK” episode where JK portrayed himself topped the list of the most watched programs last weekend as it recorded a national TV rating of 30.7%, or 11 points higher than the score of GMA’s “Magpakailanman” which only got 19.5%.

"MMK" features Juan Karlos Labajo's life story
"The Voice Kids Philippines” second runner-up Juan Karlos “JK” Labajo will inspire the viewers of ABS-CBN’s “Maalaala Mo Kaya” through his life story that will be aired this Saturday (September 27). The 13-year-old “The Voice Kids” heartthrob will portray himself in the upcoming episode.
Contrary to public perception that he is well-off, the half-German and half-Filipino teen singer will share in “MMK” the life of poverty that he faced since birth. Together with his grandmother and uncle who raised him, JK grew up thinking that he should work hard for everything that their family has.

JK Labajo, Darren Espanto reveal more about their personal lives
Even though Coach Sarah Geronimo’s bets Lyca Gairanod and Darren Espanto emerged as the top two finalists in the recently-concluded “The Voice Kids,” second runner-up Juan Karlos “JK” Labajo says he does not regret picking Bamboo Mañalac as his mentor after falling short of winning. Sarah and Bamboo both turned around for JK during his blind audition but the young artist ultimately chose to join Kamp Kawayan.
“I like Coach Sarah, but our music genres don’t match. She’s into ballads and pop. I chose Coach Bamboo because first of all, he has a unique voice,” JK explains in “Tapatan Ni Tunying” airing this Thursday (August 14).

Nine-year-old Lyca Gairanod of Cavite emerged as the first ever grand champion of The Voice Kids after garnering the highest percentage of text and online votes during the two-night finale of the top-rating and Twitter-trending singing-reality show.
Coach Sarah Geronimo’s bet led the public voting based on the Power Ballad, Upbeat Song, and Special Performance with a Celebrity Guest rounds and took home P1 million, a one-year recording contract with MCA Universal, house and lot, a home appliance showcase, a musical instrument showcase, and P1 million worth of trust fund.
