Ali Khatibi, who recently wed "Tubig at Langis" actress Cristine Reyes, placed second runner-up at the recently-concluded Century Tuna Superbods Nation 2016.
The winners were announced on Sunday night, April 10, at The Palace Pool Club in Taguig City.
Ali is a Filipino-Iranian MMA fighter, reason for his muscled built. He first came into the public eye when he dated Cristine in 2014. The two eventually had a daughter early last year and had a Balesin wedding in January of this year.
On her Instagram account, Cristine shared how proud she was of her husband, revealing that she was already crying even before the program started last Sunday.
"I'm so happy and proud of you my love! You bravely faced and conquered your fear last night. It was my first time to cheer someone on stage like that!!! It was so weird that out of my nervousness I was crying before the show even started," the actress wrote in the caption of the above photo.
Meanwhile, Tom Esconde and Olivia Medina were named as the male and female grand winners of Century Tuna Superbods Nation 2016. Model and actor Clint Bondad and Ambra Gutierrez were the first runners-up; and Chet Abella was the female second runner-up.
Female grand winner Olivia also received the Female Stylish Superbod of the Night, with the male counterpart of the award going to male runner-up Clint Bondad who also won the fittest male and Belo Beautiful Skin (male) special awards.
Male grand winner Tom, on the other hand, was named the most photogenic male. Finalist Natalia Alonde was named the most photogenic female.
Female 1st runner-up Ambra received the fittest female and female beach bod special awards. Finalist Shawn Stansbury got the male beach bod award.
Chet, the female 2nd runner-up, bagged the Belo Beautiful Skin (female) and Runway Superbod of the Night (female) awards. Basketball player Ameen Sardouk was the male runway superbod.
The Superbods Challenge winners were Cassie Umali and Andrew Aurellano, while Kaara Tan and Pio Luz were named the People's Choice winners.
