"Pinoy Big Brother 737" made a big announcement during the show's first eviction night on Friday, July 3, 2015.
The reality show is cancelling the 24/7 livestream of the program on cable television and online because of social media posts that put the housemates in bad light.
As flashed on TV during the live airing of "PBB 737," the statement reads:
Mariing kinukundina ng ABS-CBN ang iresponsableng paggamit ng social media na dinudungisan ang reputasyon ng housemates at responsibilidad naming protektahan sila. Kung kaya't nagdesisyon ang ABS-CBN na ihinto na ang libreng 24/7 livestreaming ng programa sa cable TV, TFC.tv at online simula ngayong gabi.
Earlier on Friday, a press statement was released by ABS-CBN corporate communications head Kane Errol Choa, addressing the rumors of a "bromance" between Kenzo Gutierrez, 18, and Bailey May, 12.
According to the statement, the social media photos of Kenzo and Bailey holding hands and hugging "are made by irresponsible netizens who maliciously take screenshots from the program's livestream and weave a narrative that is not only far from truth, but also attempts to put the housemates in a bad light."
Meanwhile, the "PBB 737" officials have recently been summoned by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to a July 9 conference concerning children's rights and protection.
