El Gamma Penumbra, the shadow play group from the Philippines, won the first-ever season of "Asia's Got Talent."
Determined by public votes across the Southeast Asia, the results of the competition was announced during the show's finale on Thursday evening, May 14, 2015.
The winner received US$100,000 and the chance to perform at the Marina Bay Sands.
El Gamma Penumbra was joined in the Top 3 by Filipina soprano Gerphil Flores and Mongolian ethnic band Khusugtun. Flores was eventually eliminated.
The shadow play group got a standing ovation last week for their performance which touches on the environmental problems the world currently has.
Other acts that made it to the grand finals are the Pinoy acrobatic dance group Junior New System, young Pinay singer Gwyneth Dorado, Thai rock group The Talento, Chinese acrobats Gao Lin and Liu Xin, Singaporean tap dance group Dance Thrilogy, and Japanese dance troupe Triqstar.
"Asia's Got Talent" is hosted by Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez. Judges include David Foster, Anggun, Van Ness Wu and Melanie C.
