Jamie Herrell of the Philippines was crowned Miss Earth 2014 during the pageant night held at the University of the Philippines (UP) Theatre in Quezon City on Saturday, November 29.
Herrell bested 86 other candidates from around the world. Her answer in the final question and answer portion secured her the title. When asked what she would do about global warming if she wins the crown, the Cebuana answered that she will use her title to inspire people to help the environment, and she would start with the children because they are the people of tomorrow.
Other winners were Andrea Neu (USA) - Miss Earth Air; Maira Alexandra Rodriguez (Venezuela) - Miss Earth Water; and Anastasia Trusova (Russia) - Miss Earth Fire.
Also part of the Top 8 were Brazil, Mongolia, Slovak Republic and Spain.
Top 16 also included Tahiti, Korea, Colombia, Scotland, Zambia, Thailand, Egypt and Mexico.
