‘FoodPrints’ hosted by Chef Sandy Daza premieres Sept 21

A brand new adventure is about to take place for Chef Sandy Daza, as he takes viewers along in circling the Philippines to encounter the best local culinary delights in the Lifestyle Network’s newest travelogue, FoodPrints, which is set to premiere this Saturday, September 21.

His first quest takes him to the northernmost tip of Luzon, landing him in Laoag, Ilocos Norte. Join Chef Sandy as he goes straight to the best places to get to know a region’s food culture, setting himself right in the middle of the hubbub of the busy Laoag Sunday market. There, he familiarizes himself with the tastes and cravings of the Ilocano people—taking on the famous Ilocos empanada, bagnet with KBL (kamatis, bagoong Balayan and lasona), and pinakbet. He even goes into the debate between Batac and Laoag longganisa, and visits the man who is known to have revolutionized Ilocano cuisine.

JR Royol wins “MasterChef Pinoy Edition”

JR Royol won MasterChef Pinoy Edition in the grand finals that was held on Saturday, February 9, 2013, live at the SM North EDSA Skydome. He now holds the title as the first-ever Pinoy MasterChef.

He bested the other two finalists Carla Marcaida and Ivory Yat. Myra Santos, who was part of the Final Four, got eliminated early in the grand finals for getting the lowest ranking.

Reggie Apolinario gets the boot, “MasterChef Pinoy Edition” Top 6 named

Reggie Apolinario was eliminated from the reality cooking show MasterChef Pinoy Edition. The 30-year-old call center agent from Laguna just lost his chance of becoming the first-ever Pinoy MasterChef as he failed to impress the judges with his balut-penoy dish.

“MasterChef Pinoy Edition” Top 16 revealed

MasterChef Pinoy Edition has just completed revealing the show’s Top 16 on Friday. It was supposed to be just Top 15, but found another one worthy to be included, thus, an additional contestant.

“MasterChef Pinoy Edition” beats rival programs in national TV ratings

ABS-CBN’s first kusina-serye MasterChef Pinoy Edition  is poised to become Filipinos’ favorite morning TV habit as its pilot episode that featured Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo and the inspiring stories of amateur chef auditionees yesterday (Nov 12) claimed an early lead in ratings.

Based on data from Kantar Media, it registered a national TV rating of 18.1%, while GMA’s Knock Out (9.7%) and Cielo de Angelina (6.7%) and TV5’s Face to Face (5.3%), trailed very far behind.
