Universal Records has announced the release of the Special Edition of Alden Richards' debut album released in 2013.
The album has turned gold last September, two years after its release, in the midst of Alden's popularity courtesy of "Eat Bulaga!'s" #KalyeSerye.
Alden Richards' popularity multiplied after he was teamed up with Yaya Dub (Maine Mendoza) in "Eat Bulaga!'s" KalyeSerye. And with that, everyone now loves everything that has his name on it, including stuff like his debut album that was released 2 years ago.
Released by Universal Records, the album's sales obviously increased as Alden's mass appeal grew stronger, that it has now reached gold record status.
On Friday, September 25, 2015, the Pambansang Bae was surprised when the gold record plaque was presented to him by the record label while he was hosting the noontime show's first segment.
He cried with mixed emotions of surprise, happiness and gratitude and his emotion was infectious that his co-hosts and the audience (both live and on TV) got teary-eyed.
Alden Richards has recently signed a recording contract with Universal Records.
Present at the contract signing (as seen above) were David Fabros and Simoun Ferrer of GMA Artist Center, and Universal Records General Manager Kathleen Dy-Go and Operations Manager Peter Chan.
