2013 MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA) - Nominees

The 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA) is happening November 10th (11th in Manila) in Amsterdam. This year is specially important for Filipinos because the Philippines’ Popstar Princess, Sarah Geronimo, is nominated for the Best Southeast Asia Act category.

The Philippines’ Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo has achieved another milestone in her career by being nominated at the MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA).

Sarah is nominated in the Best Southeast Asia Act category, facing tough competition in Malaysia’s Hafiz, Indonesia’s NOAH, Singapore’s Olivia Ong, Thailand’s Slot Machine, and Vietnam’s My Tam.

About Sarah, the MTV EMA website writes:

Sarah Asher Tua Geronimo, or simply Sarah Geronimo or Sarah G., is hailed as the Philippines' Popstar Princess. Born in Manila, she turned 25 on July 25, 2013. Sarah's showbiz career began at age 14 when she emerged as the champion of a singing contest called “Star For A Night” in 2002.

For a decade now, she has achieved multiplatinum albums, record-breaking concerts, blockbuster movies, and high-rating TV shows. Sarah's phenomenal musical talent has earned her recognition not just in her homeland, but all over Asia. She won the title of Best Asian Artist (Philippines) at the 2012 MNet Asian Music Awards in Hong Kong, making her the first Filipino to receive the award. In the Philippines, she has been honored by many prestigious award-giving bodies. She is a six-time Awit Awards winner, including the “Best Selling Album of the Year” for One Heart in 2012, which is a certified five-times platinum album. Sarah is the only female artist in history to win all the major Aliw Awards: the coveted Entertainer of The Year and Record Breaker in 2010, Best Female in Major Concert for 24/SG in 2012, Best in Collaboration For A Concert for What Love Is in 2011, and Most Promising Female Entertainer in 2003. In 2004, she won Nickelodeon Philippines' Kids' Choice Award.

This year, she makes another breakthrough with her new album ‘Expressions’, featuring a song she herself wrote entitled ‘Make Me Yours’.

Being nominated is good enough, but winning would be such a big gift for Sarah who is celebrating her 10th anniversary in the music industry this year. While the MTV EMA will be held in Amsterdam on November 11, Sarah’s 10th anniversary concert will be at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on November 15.
