Pilipinas Got Talent season 6 aired its pilot episode on Saturday, January 6, 2018. Vice Ganda, Robin Padilla, Angel Locsin and Freddie M. Garcia (FMG) consisted the panel of judges and Billy Crawford and Toni Gonzaga hosted. Toni is the newest addition to the show.
TOWEL DANCE
The comedy group, Mama's Boyz, from Sta. Mesa, Manila was the first act that was aired during the season premiere. The group did a towel dance, using only towels to cover their naked bodies while dancing.
It's their failure to cover up sensitive areas in some parts of the dance that gave the audience and the judges a good laugh. The routine is not new in talent shows, though, but it was how the group delivered that made the audience love them.
In the end, Mama's Boyz got 4 yeses from judges Vice Ganda, Robin Padilla, Angel Locsin and Freddie M. Garcia.
SHADOW PLAY
The Shadow Arts Theater Organization (SATO) from Palo, Leyte dedicated their performance to the soldiers, specifically those that fought in Marawi. Being survivors of typhoon Yolanda who received help from others to start anew, they joined PGT to inspire and to spread word about the recent war in Mindanao as a way of giving back.
Their performance was a shadow play to the tune of Dance With My Father. The father in their performance went to war, and the judges clearly saw the message they wanted to impart.
FMG, however, said that that kind of performance wouldn't win in the finals, and he gave the group a no so they will remember to make it better next time. SATO went through to the next stage, though, because they got 3 yeses from the other judges.
ZUMBA
Angelisa Del Rosario from Cebu City wowed the judges when she showed them that she still has "the moves" at 67 years old. She's a widow who makes a living by selling candies in the streets, where she also lives.
Her performance was complete with a couple of backup dancers. She ended her routine with a budots dance which made the audience wild.
Angelisa got 4 yeses… and dentures courtesy of Billy Crawford. The host promised that he'd talk to his dentist friend for a possible free dentures for the old lady.
PULL-UP BARS EXHIBITION
The 4th act that performed was from Baguio. Called Bardilleranz, the group did a shirtless pull-up bar exhibition. While their bodies were impressive, three of the judges gave them a standing ovation for the difficulty of their act. Only Vice Ganda didn't stand up, but she was vocally impressed by the performance.
FMG also revealed that it was his first time to witness such act and since Bardilleranz was able to wow him, he gave the group the first Golden Buzzer of the season.
That's it for the 1st episode of Pilipinas Got Talent Season 6 - everyone went through to the next round, plus the season's 1st Golden Buzzer recipient revealed. Second episode airs tomorrow, Sunday, at 7:30 p.m. Be sure to watch!
