The recently-concluded Pacquiao-Mosley fight was much-awaited by boxing fans around the world. But for Filipinos, it's not just the fight that is to be celebrated in the event, because our very own international singer and tv and movie actress Charice sang the Philippine national anthem before the fight.
But it's not just the Glee star who made the fight "shine." American R&B singer and actor Tyrese Gibson (who in Fast Five) sang America's anthem Star-Spangled Banner, while Jamie Foxx sang the America the Beautiful.
Mosley fell twice on rounds 3 and 4. The audience were booing for lack of action inside the ring because Mosley wasn't fighting at all. All he did was defend and block Pacquiao's advances and blows.
On the 10th round, though, Mosley pushed Pacquiao which caused the Filipino legend to fall. Sadly, the referee called it a knockdown. After the fight, the pound-for-pound king admitted he was surprised that it was ruled a knockdown but he respected it because it's the referee's call and it's part of the game.
Later on, however, he admitted that he got angry. And people could tell because it was very evident at how aggressive he became after that round.
Manny Pacquiao won by a unanimous decision – 119-108, 120-108, 120-107.
